headaches, upset stomach, rashes, insomnia, ulcers, high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke How can stress be managed? Here are some techniques how you can manage your stress: * Notice your stress and even your physical and emotional reactions: Never ignore your distress. Don't just run away from your problems but try to determine what events distress you. Go depth to those meanings and determine how your body responds to the stress.
* Try to recognize what you can change: Recognize what you can change by devoting the time and energy necessary to making a change like goal setting, time management techniques, and delayed gratification strategies may be helpful here. * Reduce your emotional reactions to stress: The stress reaction leads you many a times to danger...physical danger or emotional danger or both. Try to work at adopting more moderate views where you see the stress as something you can cope with rather than something that overpowers you. Try to control or temper your excess emotions. Never be on the negative aspects and the forget "what if." * Learn to moderate your physical reactions: Moderate physical reactions to stress and Slow, deep breathing will bring your heart rate and respiration back to normal. By knowing different relaxation techniques on your own can reduce muscle tension and is a preferable long-term solution. * Build your own physical reserves: Moderate, prolonged rhythmic exercise is best, such as walking, swimming, cycling, or jogging for refreshment. It's very essential to eat well-balanced, nutritious meals and maintain your ideal weight. Mix leisure with your work and take enough sleep. But avoid nicotine. * Maintain your emotional reserves: Having mutual relationships is very essential like friendships. Aim to pursue realistic goals which are meaningful to you. Never go in depression and always be kind and gentle with yourself i.e be a friend to yourself.
